Bus-truck collision leaves 5 dead in Dinajpur

Five people were killed and at least 15 others injured after a Dhaka-bound passenger bus collided with a mango-laden parked truck at Nurjahanpur area of Dinajpur’s Ghoraghat upazila early Saturday (June 14).
The accident took place on the Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway at Nurjahanpur area of the upazila around 3:15 am.
The deceased could not be identified immediately.
Ghoraghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nazmul Haque confirmed the news.
According to local sources and police, several trucks laden with mangoes were parked at the same location.
A bus belonging to ‘Nabil Paribahan’, traveling from Panchagarh to Dhaka, lost control over its steering and hit one of the trucks, leaving five people dead on the spot.
Of the injured, five were admitted to a hospital nearby for treatment.
