‘Tandob’ movie piracy ringleader arrested in Noakhali

Detective branch of police (DB) arrested an alleged mastermind behind the piracy of popular actor Shakib Khan’s much-discussed film ‘Tandob’ from Noakhali.

The arrestee is known as Tipu Sultan, 35, son of Khalilur Rahman, hailed from Kalikapur village of Begumganj upazila of the district.

Noakhali additional police super (crimes and ops) Mohammad Ibrahim confirmed the matter on Wednesday (June 18).

According to police sources, the movie ‘Tandab’ was pirated and HD copies of the entire movie were illegally distributed through various media by Tipu Sultan.

Later, the film's producer Shahriar Karim Bhuiyan alias Shahriar Shakil filed a case against Tipu under the Copyright Act at Dhaka's Banani Police Station. Based on a tip-off, Noakhali DB police conducted a raid and arrested him.
