Fire from gas leakage leaves 6 burnt in Ashulia

At least six people sustained burn injuries in a fire caused originated from gas leakages at a house in the capital's Ashulia on Wednesday (June 18).

Meanwhile, a wall of a two-storey building was collapsed in the explosion that occurred at about 7:00am at Badhiarpar area.

Ashulia police station’s Inspector (probe) Kamal Hossain confirmed the matter.

Harun Or Rashid, Manager (Operations) of Ashulia Women and Children Health Center Hospital, said, "Five burn victims were brought to our hospital. Of them, two are in critical condition. Four people have been referred to Dhaka after giving first aid."

Abu Sayem Masum, senior station officer of the Jirabo Model Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, said, "Initially, it is believed that the explosion occurred due to a cylinder leak and gas accumulated in the house coming into contact with fire."
