Two sisters killed in Kurigram road crash

Two women were killed when a tractor rammed them on Kurigram-Rangpur highway in Kurigram Sadar upazila in Kurigram on Wednesday night (June 18).

The deceased were known as Rokeya, wife of late Rahamat of Sinai union, and Parveen, wife of Amzad, hailed from Agamani area of Kathalbari union. They were siblings.

Police and local sources said Rokeya and Parveen were crossing the road in front of the Kathalbari Degree College when a speeding tractor ran them over. Later, locals sent them to Kurigram General Hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

Confirming the matter, Kurigram Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Habibullah said legal steps will be taken in this regard.
