Shariatpur DC’s intimate video goes viral

A video of Shariatpur Deputy Commissioner’s ‘intimate moment’ with a woman, has recently gone viral in the social media platforms.

Expatriate journalist Jawad Nirjhar posted the offensive photo of the Deputy Commissioner on his personal Facebook and telegram on Friday (June 20).

In the 57-second video posted on Telegram, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Uddin is seen with his shirt buttons unbuttoned and kissing a woman wearing a red-and-yellow dress.

According to district administration sources, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Ashraf Uddin joined as the Deputy Commissioner of Shariatpur on November 3, 2024.

Expressing anger over the issue, Imran Al Nazir, convener of the district's anti-discrimination student movement, said, "The DC could not maintain his good character. An expatriate journalist named Jawad Nirjhar uploaded a video of some intimate moments of the DC and a woman on social media. We came to know about this from that. No one expects such actions from the DC."
