Woman dies after being hit by train in Dinajpur

An old woman died after being hit by a train at Chirirbandar upazila in Dinajpur district on Friday morning (June 20).

The deceased was known as Anzuman Ara, 60, wife of Basudebpur village of the upazila.

Locals said she was killed on the spot after being hit by a moving train while crossing the railway line around 9:30 am.

Family sources said the victim was a mental patient.

Chirirbandar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Wadud confirmed the matter.
