BRUR teacher Mahmudul Haque secured bail

A court in Rangpur has granted bail to Mahmudul Haque, a teacher of Begum Rokeya University, who was arrested in a murder case.

The acting Metropolitan Sessions Judge of Rangpur, Marzia Islam passed the order on Sunday (June 22).

Court sources said Mahmudul Haque's lawyers filed a bail application in the court of Judge Md Soyebur Rahman of Rangpur Metropolitan Magistrate Court-1. After the hearing the court fixed Tuesday.

Later, his lawyers appealed again to the Rangpur Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court. Then, the court granted the bail on humanitarian ground.

Earlier on Thursday afternoon (June 19), police arrested Mahmudul Haque, a teacher at the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism at Begum Rokeya University, in a murder case.
