Two crushed under train wheels in Nilphamari

Two men riding a motorcycle were killed after being hit by an intercity train in Nilphamari on Wednesday (June 25) morning.

The deceased were known Bhabesh Chandra Roy, 30, son of Sentu Chandra, and Santosh Roy, 45, son of Kanthu Chandra.

The accident took place at the Tetultala area level crossing in the district Sadar around 6:35 am, according to officials.

Locals said that although the two were masons by profession, they were on their way to farmer Dulal Chandra's land in Palashbari to plant Aman rice seedlings. The two were on a motorcycle.

Confirming the matter, Nilphamari Railway Station Master Mithun Roy said, "Saidpur Railway Police (GRP) has been informed about the matter."
