Mother, daughter electrocuted in Magura

A woman and her daughter died from electrocution at Tilla village in Magura Sadar upazila on Wednesday morning Wednesday (June 25).

The deceased were known as Setu Khatun, 25, wife of Awal Mia, and their eigh-month-old daughter Anisa.

Family sources said that the incident occurred around 8am when Setu came into contact with a live electric wire while using a rice cooker. She collapsed to the ground with Anisha in her arms.

Later, they were taken to Magura Sadar Hospital where duty doctor declared them dead.

Magura Sadar Hospital doctor Omar Faruk confirmed the death news.
