11 held with firearms in Bagerhat

Detective Branch of police (DB) detained 11 persons with four pistols and ammunitions from Mollahat upazila of Bagerhat on Thursday evening (June 26).

The detainees are – Kawsar Ali, 43, Md Mehedi Hasan, 23, Ataur Rahman, 30, Md Khokon Biswas, 45, Khokon Mia, 35, Abul Hossain, 43, Md Imdadul Haque, 31, Jony Mia, 27, Selim Shah, 34, Masum Parvez, 22, and Prasenjit Chandra Dash, 35.

Police said the microbus number was heading towards Khulna via Mollahat. During a search operation the law enforcers found four 7.62 mm Chinese pistols, four magazines and nine rounds of bullets in the vehicle.

Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Md. Touhidul Arif said that the process of filing a case against them under the Arms Act is underway.
