Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd) has said that the government is working to stop mob terrorism.

He said this while talking to reporters after inaugurating the Ratha Yatra in Dhamrai of Dhaka on Friday (June 27) afternoon.

He hoped that people of all religions in Bangladesh will observe their religious ceremonies without fear or hesitation, emphasizing that the current government will extend full support to ensure such freedoms.

"People across all faiths can celebrate their religious festivals with peace of mind. The government is committed to extending every possible cooperation to ensure the smooth observance of such festivals," he said.

The adviser highlighted the substantial improvements in the law and order situation in the country.

He expressed confidence that with the cooperation of the people, the situation could further be improved to a more satisfactory level.

The eight-day Rath Jatra festival, a vibrant and significant religious event for the Hindu community, was inaugurated with a colorful procession.

During the ceremony, the adviser extended his heartfelt greetings to the participants on behalf of the current interim government, wishing them a joyous and peaceful celebration.
