The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three.
Bangladesh Meteorologicall Department (BMD) issued a notification in this regard on Monday (June 30).
According to the BMD bulletin, the low pressure over northwest bay and adjoining west Bengal and Bangladesh coast persists.
Under its influence, steep pressure gradient persists over north bay and gusty/squally weather may affect the maritime ports, north bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
Mahbuba Sukhi, officer-in-charge of Patuakhali District Meteorological Office, said, "Gusts or strong winds may blow over the area due to the influence of low pressure."
