3 die falling from under-construction building in Jashore

Three people including two engineers have been killed falling from the sixth floor’s balcony of an under-construction building in Jashore.

The incident took place at around 12pm on Tuesday in Circuit Housepara area of Jashore town.

The deceased were identified as Mizanur Rahman, a diploma engineer from Kushtia, Azizul, a diploma engineer from Dinajpur, and Nuru Mia, a sub-contractor and head construction worker from Chapainawabganj.

According to witness, the engineers were providing advice to Nuru Mia on the sixth-floor balcony of the eight-storeyed building it suddenly collapsed, leaving them seriously injured.

Locals rushed them to Jashore General Hospital where doctors declared them dead.

Kotwali Police Station Sub-Inspector Zahid said investigation is underway and legal actions will be taken.
