A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying 400 Hajj pilgrims got stuck on the runway due to a technical glitch after it landed at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram.

The flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (BG-138) came to a halt at runway 23-end around 9:30 AM on Saturday (July 5), according to airport authorities.

Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, an engineer at Shah Amanat International Airport, confirmed the incident, stating that a flight carrying around 400 Hajj pilgrims departed Jeddah for Chattogram yesterday (Friday) at around 11:30 PM. The flight landed at Chattogram’s Shah Amanat International Airport around 9:30 AM on Saturday amid rain. After landing, while the plane was making a U-turn on the runway, it got stuck due to a wheel malfunction, disrupting other flights’ takeoffs and landings.

According to sources from the airport’s engineering department, work is underway to fix the wheel fault and move the aircraft from the runway. It is hoped the plane can be moved quickly.
