Chinese worker dies at Barapukuria coalmine

A Chinese worker has died in an accident while working at Barapukuria coal mine in Dinajpur.

The accident occurred at around 5:00 pm on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Mr. Wang, 30.

Khan Md. Zafar Sadiq, General Manager of the Mine Operations Department of Barapukuria Coal Mine Company Ltd (BCMCL, confirmed the news.

The general manager stated that yesterday at around 5 PM, Mr. Wang became entangled with a steel rope while hydraulic supports were being removed from the 1305 no. face’s truck gate underground at BCMCL. He was immediately rescued and sent to Rangpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment. The hospital’s doctor declared him dead.
