Youth shot dead in Rangunia

A young man has been shot and hacked to death in Padua union under Rangunia upazila of Chattogram district, police said.

The victim was identified as Md Russel, 25, son of Mohammad Ali from the same area.

The incident took place in Alir Tia area on Thursday (July 10).

Sabir Mohammad Selim, Officer-in-Charge of South Rangunia Police Station confirmed the matter.

Police and locals said that a group of assailants attacked Russel, shooting him and hacking him with sharp weapons. The attackers severed his wrist before leaving his body in a paddy field. Later, police recovered the body.
