National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has said, “Whoever commits corruption, NCP will not spare them. If NCP leaders and activists are involved in corruption, the party will also take actions against them. Our future movement is against corruption and extortion.”
He said this at a rally organized by NCP’s Jashore district unit at Judge Court Eidgah intersection on Friday afternoon.
NCP leaders and activists went to Jashore on Friday, the 11th day of the nationwide July March program.
Referring to BNP, Nahid Islam said, “A party claims to have crores of people. NCP should not be intimidated by people. NCP wants people who do justice to the people.”
At the rally, party member secretary Akhtar Hossain said, “The reform talks are on the table, don’t force us to take to the streets.” He also said, “The people of Bangladesh want friendly relations with India, but we will not accept their bigotry.”
The rally was moderated by NCP’s northern region chief organizer Sarjis Alam.
Southern region organizer Hasnat Abdullah, central leaders Dr. Tasnim Zara and Khaled Saifullah Jewel as well as local leaders also spoke.
