Husband, wife electrocuted in Meherpur

A man and his wife died from electrocution at Chaugachha village under Gangni upazila of the district this afternoon (July 14).

The deceased were known as Golam Kibria, 57, and his wife Rina Khatun, 45.

Witnesses said that Kibria was electrocuted while taking out his bicycle from the house, and his wife also got electrocuted while trying to rescue him. Locals rescued and took them to Gangni Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty doctors declared them dead.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gangni Police Station Bani Israel said on information, police force was sent to the spot.
