One killed as train hits truck in Khulna 

One person was killed and several others were injured as a train hit a truck in Khulna on Monday night.

Train services between Khulna with other parts of the country have been suspended after the incident. 

The accident occurred at Afil Gate under Khanjahan Thana in the city at around 7:45 pm. 

Gateman Ohedul is absconding after the incident. 

Confirming the death, Khanjahan Ali Thana OC Kabir Hossain said, “Many passengers on the train were injured in the accident. An elderly man was seriously injured and locals took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital. The doctors there declared him dead. The name and identity of the deceased are not known.” 

Khulna Railway Station Master Zakir Hossain said, “The Mahananda Express hit the truck.”
