Khulna train-truck collision, rail services restored after 6 hrs

Rail communication between Khulna and rest of Bangladesh has been restored six hours after suspension due to a collision between a train and a truck at Sadar upazila in Khulna district, leaving one dead and 30 others injured.
Khulna Railway Station Master Md Zakir Hossain confirmed the development this morning and said, “Rail communication between Khulna and rest of Bangladesh has been restored following the rescue operation.”
The accident occurred around 8:15 PM on Monday (July 14) at the Afil Gate level crossing under Khanjahan Ali Police Station in the city.
According to locals, a truck stalled on the Afil Gate bypass road railway crossing. At that moment, the train, heading towards Khulna, struck the truck, pushing it forward and three compartments derailed.
An elderly individual sustained critical injuries. Later, locals rescued the critically injured person and took him to Khulna Medical College Hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries.
