Irregularities at KUET: Probe committee formed

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has formed a three-member committee to probe allegations of irregular appointments and other complaints in the past year at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).

An official order signed by Dr. Mahibul Ahsan, Additional Director of UGC's Management Division (Public Universities), was issued in this regard on Monday.

Professor Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, a UGC member responsible for Administration Division, has been made head of the committee. 

Nurun Nahar Begum Shiuli, Deputy Secretary, has been made a member.

Additionally, Sehzad Rifat Siam, Assistant Director of UGC’s Public University Management Division, has been assigned to assist the investigation committee.

The committee has been instructed to submit its report within one month.

In response, KUET Registrar Engineer Md. Anisur Rahman Bhuiyan said, “We have not yet officially received a copy of the investigation committee's order”.
