Rich tributes paid to Abu Sayeed’s grave

July Martyrs' Day is being observed in Rangpur through various programs.
The day (July 16) was declared Martyr's Day in memory of Abu Sayeed, a student of the English Department of Begum Rokeya University. On this day, Abu Sayeed was killed in police firing during the Anti-discrimination Student Movement.
Rich tributes were paid to Abu Sayeed at 7:30 am on Wednesday (July 15). Rangpur deputy commissioner Rabiul Faisal, Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor Dr Showkat Ali, leaders of various political and social organizations, and others paid his respects by laying a wreath at Abu Sayed's grave.
Begum Rokeya University Vice-Chancellor said that the university will never forget Abu Saeed's sacrifice.
Besides, a mourning rally was held on the university campus at 9 am. People join the rally wearing black badges.
