Section 144 imposed in Gopalganj 

Over attack on the central leaders of the National Citizen Party (NCP), Section 144 has been imposed in Gopalganj city. 

Deputy Commissioner of the district Muhammad Kamruzzaman enforced Section-144 on Wednesday but did not set any timeframe for it.

Alongside the police, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) and army personnel, four platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed in the Sadar headquarters to avoid further untoward incidents, said Md Shariful Islam, public relations officer of the BGB Headquarters.

Earlier, an attack was carried out on NCP leaders when they were returning after a rally. At one stage, it turned into a battlefield as police and army personnel were also involved.
