Court orders exhumation of 3 bodies from Gopalganj graveyard

The court has ordered the exhumation and autopsy of three of the five individuals who were shot dead in clashes surrounding the National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj.

The court issued the order around 10 am on Monday (July 21) upon an application filed for exhuming the bodies.

The deceased—Imon Talukder and Ramzan Kazi—will be exhumed from the Gopalganj municipal graveyard, while the body of Sohel Rana will be exhumed from a graveyard in Tungipara.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gopalganj Sadar Police Station Mir Mohammad Sajedur Rahman confirmed the matter, stating, “Today, the plaintiffs in the case filed an application to the court to exhume the bodies of the deceased for autopsy. The court has ordered the exhumation of the bodies of the deceased Ramzan Kazi, Imon Talukder, and Sohel Rana from their graves for autopsies in presence of a magistrate. We will first exhume the body of the deceased Ramzan from the Gopalganj Municipal Graveyard.”
