Biman flight returns to Chattogram after takeoff

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft encountered a technical issue after taking off from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram and had to return shortly afterwards.

The incident took place around 9:00 am on Thursday (July 24).

Shah Amanat International Airport Public Relations Officer Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil confirmed the matter.

He said that carrying 287 passengers, the flight BG-148 landed at Chittagong airport at 7:15am safely. Later, at 8:37am, the flight departed for Dhaka, continuing its scheduled journey. However, the aircraft encountered a mechanical glitch just after the flight and returned to the airport at 8:58 am.

The flight is currently stationed at Bay No 8 of the airport. All passengers are safe, said the airport authority.
