Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisted local cautionary signal no. three.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) issued a special bulletin in this regard on Friday (July 25).
Due the influence of new moon phase and Depression the low-lying areas of the coastal districts of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat, Jhalokathi, Pirojpur, Barishal, Borguna, Patuakhali, Bhola, Chandpur, Laxmipur, Noakhali, Feni, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar and their offshore Islands and Chars are likely to be inundated by wind driven surge of 1-3 feet height above normal astronomical tide.
All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to take shelter immediately and remain in shelter till further notice.
