Bangladeshi youth shot dead by BSF firing in Feni

A Bangladeshi youth was shot dead and another injured by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) at the Feni border in Parshuram upazila.

The deceased was known as Millat Hossain 21, son of Yusuf Mia. The injured, Afsar Uddin, 31, son of late Eyar Ahmed.

The incident occurred around 12:00 am on Friday at pillar number 2164/3-S in the Bashpaduya border area of the upazila.

Local sources, Millat Hossain and Md Afsar crossed the border area under the jurisdiction of Guthuma BOP (Border Outpost) in Parshuram and approached the barbed-wire fence at midnight. At that time, BSF personnel opened fire at them, leaving both Millat and Afzar wounded.

Later, locals rescued them and took to upazila health complex and shifted to Feni General Hospital where Millat died under treatment.
