National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam has said, “No one is above question in the new Bangladesh after July Uprising. We want to create new politics under the leadership of the youth.”
He said this at a brief rally at the main gate of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) on Friday (July 25) afternoon.
He said, “The elections to the university student unions must be arranged quickly. Authorities must supply proper foods in the university halls. There must be sufficient books in the libraries. An academic environment must be ensured in the universities.”
He also said, “SUST showed immense courage in the July Uprising. From here, the fight spread to the entire Sylhet. Each university became a fortress in this movement.”
“In this one year, many of our demands have not been fulfilled. However, an environment of democracy and human rights has been created in the country. Many reforms are being made,” added the NCP convener.
