Varsity student killed for Eid Panjabi

Staff Correspondent: A 22-year-old university student was killed over a dispute centering a Panjabi as a gift of Eid-ut-Fitr in Amirabadh area under Lohagara Upazila in Chittagong district on Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Mejbah Uddin, a fourth year student of law department of Begum Gulchemonara Trust University (BGC).
Sources said that the victim and his cousin located into an altercation on the issue of choosing a Panjabi as Eid gift. At one stage, victim`s cousin Arman attacked Mejbah and held his testicles to leave him critically injured.
Later, the injured was rushed to a local hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
On information police recovered the body and sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
Confirming the matter, Lohagara police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Shahjahan told risingbd.com that police detained the accused Arman, 22, victim`s cousin.
