Man gets death in murder case after 22 yrs 

Staff Correspondent, Rangpur: A Rangpur court sentenced a man to death penalty after 22 years he had stabbed a girl to death.

The death-row convict is Safiuddin, son of Tofil Uddin of Khamar Kursha village of the district's Mithapukur upazila.

Judge Abu Jafar Mohammad Kamruzzaman of Rangpur Additional District and Sessions Judge Court passed the order on Thursday.

According to the court sources, Safiuddin had a dispute over land with Amin Uddin and his brother Soleman Mia of the same village. As a sequel to that Safiuddin went to Soleman's house to kill him on July 7, 1995. Then, he stabbed Ambia Khatun, 13, to death as he did not find her father Soleman.
