6th grader killed in Gazipur lightning strike

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A student of 6th grade was killed in lightning strike in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur on Wednesday noon.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Hossain, 12, son of Ismail Hossain of Pakiab village in the upazila. Mohammad Hossain was the student of a local high school in the area.

Villagers said lightning kills Mohammad Hossain when he went for fishing near his home.

After recovering, local people rushed him to Kapasia Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Ismot Ara, a physician of the emergency department of the health complex, said the boy was brought to the hospital while he was dead.
