Cattle looted after killing trader

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: Miscreants looted four cattle after hacking a trader to death at Mariali area of Gazipur City on Thursday night.

The deceased trader was identified as Amir Hossain, 40, hailed from Sandeshichar under Fulchhari upazila in Gaibandha district. His father-in-law's house is at Mariali area.

Aminul Islam, brother-in-law of the deceased, said Amir along with some traders brought several cattle for sale to Mariali on the occasion of Eid ul-Azha. They used to take the cattle at different markets, keeping these at an under construction house in the area. He (Aminul) and Amir were guarding four cattle. He went home around 1:00am for sleeping.

Other traders went the house in the morning, but did not find Amir and the cattle. They informed the matter to me. Later, we found Amir dead with folding his hands and legs in a nearby jungle, he added.

Ripon Das, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Joydevpur Police Station, Confirmed the news.

He said, the body was kept at Gazipur Shahid Tazuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital morgue.
