‘Prisoners can talk to relatives over phone’

Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said steps have been taken so that prisoners can use mobile phones to talk to their family members.

He said every prison in the country will be built as reformatory. Prisoners will get access to entertainment including sports for their mental development so that they can never think that they are isolated from their relatives. The home minister came up with the comments while inaugurating the newly built Resilience Garments Industry and Jamdani Production Center inside the Narayanganj jail on Wednesday morning.

Prisoners are being given different technical trainings so that they can establish in their work life in future. They will run the garments center inaugurated inside the jail. This facility will be added to other jails in the country by turns, Kamal said.
