They had plan for suicide attack on police station

Staff Correspondent, Chittagong: Two New-JMB members arrested in Chittagong had a plan for suicide attack on Sadarghat Police Station of the city, police claimed.

Saleh Mohammad Tanvir, Additional Commissioner (crime) of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), said this in a press briefing on Tuesday noon.

He said acting on a tip off, a team of Counter Terrorism unit of CMP Detective arrested them, conducting a drive at fifth floor of Minu Bhaban of Port City Housing Society adjacent to Balurmath at Sadarghat area.

The arrestees were identified as Ashfakur Rahman Prokash Abu Mahir Al-Bangali, 22, and Rakibul Hassan Prokash Jony, 19.

Law enforcers also seized 10 homemade fresh grenades muffled with black scotch tape. Besides, a sketch map mentioning 'Target-1' where Sadarghat Police Station was on Target, two mobile phones and two belts were also found in their room.
