Housewife strangulated to death in Noakhali

Noakhali Correspondent: A housewife has been strangulated to death at Musapur in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Shahana Akter, 30, wife of Golam Sarowar.

Golam Sarowar has been on the run since the incident.

14-year-old boy Saimun, son of Shahana, said his drug addicted father strangulated his mother to death while she was saying her Fajr prayers.

His father often used to beat her mother due to different family matters and dowry, Saimun added.

Confirming the incident, Asaduzzaman, acting officer-in-charge (OC) of Companiganj Police Station, said the body was recovered around 11:30am.

Necessary action will be taken in this regard, the OC said.
