Decision to cut down 2,312 trees by Jessore-Benapole road

Staff Correspondent, Jessore: A decision has been taken to cut down 2,312 trees by the historic Jessore-Benapole road to upgrade it to four lanes.

Local lawmaker, Awami League leaders and the officials of the district administration reached upon the decision at a meeting on Saturday.

The meeting was held at the conference room of deputy commissioner (DC) of Jessore.

According to the meeting, tender has already been called for upgrading the road to four lanes. The construction will be started soon. But the hundred-year trees of both sides of the road are needed to extend the road.
