2 youths killed over playing badminton in M’singh

Staff Correspondent, Mymensingh: Two youths were allegedly stabbed dead and two others suffered injuries during a clash over playing badminton in Haluaghat upazila of Mymensingh on Saturday evening.

The deceased were identified as Akash, 23 and Sourab, 22.

Confirming the incident, Kamrul Islam Miah, acting officer-in-charge (OC) of Haluaghat Police Station, said two groups of local youths engaged in a feud over playing badminton at Shahpara in the upazila headquarters yesterday evening.

As a sequel to the feud, both the factions engaged in a fresh altercation around 7.30pm today. At one stage, the rivals of the victims stabbed them indiscriminately, leaving two youths dead on the spot and two others critically injured, the OC said.

The injured were rushed to Haluaghat upazila Health Complex, the police official added.

The OC said police are trying to detain the involved in this connection.
