Residential building blast leaves 7 injured

Staff Correspondent, Savar: At least seven people were injured as an explosion took place at a residential building in Bhadail area of Ashulia early Sunday.

The injured could not be identified immediately. But three members of a family who came under the blast were admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital in Savar and remaining others to different hospitals.

Police and fire service members are yet to find out any reason behind the explosion.

Confirming the incident, Abdul Hamid, senior station officer of DEPZ fire service department, said the reason behind the blast could not be known immediately. It can be said after an investigation.

Jahidul Islam, inspector (operations) of Ashulia Police Station, said they are looking into the incident whether it was a subversive activity.
