New HC judges pay tribute to Bangabandhu

Gopalganj Correspondent: Eighteen newly appointed additional judges of High Court paid tribute to the country’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj on Friday.

The judges placed a wreath at Bangabandhu’s grave to pay homage to him around 2:00pm.

They also observed a one-minute silence there and offered fateha and took part in the special munajat seeking eternal peace for the departed souls of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members who were assassinated on August 15 in 1975.

Later, they signed the visitors’ book kept at Bangabandhu Bhaban at Tungipara and registered comments in it.

Judges and lawyers of Gopalganj district court were present during the programme.

The new judges are Md Abu Ahmed Jamadar, Md Mostafizur Rahman, Narsingdi district and session judge Fatema Najib, Dhaka metropolitan sessions judge Md Kamrul Hossain Molla, Dhaka district and session judge SM Kuddus Zaman, Dhaka divisional special judge Md Atowar Rahman, Supreme Court lawyers SM Abdul Mobin, Mohammad Ali, Mohi Uddin Shamim, Md Riaz Uddin Khan, M Khairul Alam, Ahmed Sohel and KM Hafizul Alam, deputy attorney generals Khizir Hayat, Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar, SM Moniruzzaman, Sardar Mohammad Rashed Jahangir and Khondaker Diliruzzaman.
