Police have to work for people’s security: IGP

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary has urged newly appointed police officials to work for people’s security, keeping away themselves from all kinds of greed, corruption and nepotism.

The IGP came up with the urge in a programme at Bangladesh Police Academy in Sardah of Rajshahi on Saturday.

He said, “Police have to work for ensuring people’s security and welfare, conquering all bars and problems. This the responsibility of police.”

Javed Patwary said, “It is main duty for police to control crimes and uncovering information behind the crimes to save people’s lives and properties. Police must do their duties with professionalism.”

“Zero tolerance policy must be followed by police against drugs, terrorism and militancy,” he added.
