Two killed in separate road crashes in Gopalganj

Gopalganj Correspondent: A woman and a child were killed in separate road crashes in Gopalganj on Saturday.

The deceased were known as Kurban Sardar, 11, son of Nasir Sardar of Sri Ramkandi village under Tungipara upazila, and Shiba Sardar, 25, daughter of Biren Sardar of Daladalia village under Godagarhi upazila of Rajshahi.

Kurban, a mentally disordered boy, was killed as a bus ran over him while he was crossing road at Nilpha Bazar area on Gopalganj-Tungipara road in the morning, according Tungipara Police Station OC S M Enamul Kabir.

Gopalganj Sadar Police Station OC said, “Shiba Sardar was doing road construction works at Chechaniakandi area on Dhaka-Khulna highway in the district sadar town. At that time, a motorcycle hit her from behind, leaving her critically injured. Other workers took her to Gopalganj general hospital where attending doctors declared her dead.
