Two drug-peddlers killed in Cox's Bazar gunfight

Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: Two suspected drug dealers have killed in a gunfight with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Cox's Bazar.

The gunfight took place in Jhauban area of Cox’s Bazar sea beach early Thursday, said Cox’s Bazar RAB-15 wing commander Azim Ahmed.

One of deceased is, Md Masum, 35, hailed from Natun Baharchara area of Cox’s Bazar and the other individual has yet to be identified.

RAB official Azim said responding to a tip-off about drugs entering the country by sea, RAB conducted a drive in the area setting up a temporary check post. Upon seeing RAB team, the drug-peddlers opened fire. In reply, the RAB officials fired back in self-defence.

Later, two bullet-hit bodied injured were recovered from the spot. Meanwhile, guns, ammunition, and drugs were found in the spot.
