3 killed in Tangail road crash

Staff Correspondent, Tangail: Three motorcyclists were killed and another one injured in separate road accidents on Dhaka-Tangail highway on Friday morning.

The deceased were identified as Nazmul Hossai, 27, a corporal of NAVI Dhaka headquarters, Sufia Begum, 60, wife of former chairman Md Sabur Mia, Samia Akter, 10, daughter of Shamim Al Mamun.  

Police and locals said Nazmul Hossain and his colleague were heading towards Natore from Dhaka on Friday riding a motorbike. A speedy truck rammed their bike in Gorai area around 6:30pm, leaving Nazmul dead on the spot.

Besides, Samia Akter went to Kadimdhalla bus stand riding a motorcycle with her uncle around 10:30am. Meanwhile, a bus hit the bike, leaving Samia dead on the spot.

On the other hand, using a bike Sufia Begum was returning home with her son Sohag around 10:00am. But, a passenger bus rammed the bike in Kaliakoir area, leaving Sufia Begum dead.

Mirzapur’ Gorai Highway police station OC Raizul Islam said, two bodies were kept at police station and another body was sent to Tangail hospital for autopsy.
