10 gold bars seized in Satkhira

Satkhira Correspondent: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained a gold smugglers with 10 gold bars from Bhomra land port of Satkhira on Sunday afternoon.

The detainee is identified as Md Manzurul Islam, 35, son of late Nowsher Gazi, hailed from Sotokupat village of Shyamnagar upazila.

Satkhira BGB-33 Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Golam Mahiuddin Khandakar said acting on secret information, BGB personnel conducted a drive in the area and detained Manzurul. Meanwhile, searching his body, the law enforcers found ten pieces of gold bars, weighing around 1.63 kilogram.

The value of the bars was estimated at over Tk 50.50 lakh.
