Ashulia godown fire brought under control

Savar Correspondent: A devastating fire that broke out at a cotton godown of a thread factory at Shimultola area in Jamgora of Ashulia on Tuesday morning has now come under control.

The fire originated at a cotton godown named “Bhai Bhai Enterprise” around 10:20 am.

Five fire-fighting units brought the blaze under control after one and a half hour-attempt.

Jaman Mir, owner of the godown, said, “10-tin shed rooms were burnt to ashes in the fire, causing a damage of around Tk 40-45 lakh.

Jahangir Alom, senior station officer of DEPZ Fire Service and Civil Defence, said, “The fire spreads to many parts of the godown. Five fire-fighting units doused the fire after one and a half hour-attempt.”
