One held with 8 gold bars in Satkhira

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a man along with eight gold bars from Laxmidari bordering area of Bhomra land port in Satkhira on Thursday evening.

The arrestee is Alam, 22, son of Rajab Ali Sheikh at Laxmidari village under Bhomra union in Satkhira sadar upazila.

Commanding Officer of BGB-33 Lieutenant Colonel Golam Mahiuddin Khandakar said acting on a tip off, a BGB team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Alam with the gold bars weighing 993 gram.

The market price of the gold bars may be Tk 40.80 lakh.
