Member of ‘kidney trading’ syndicate held in Gaibandha

Police in a drive arrested a member of ‘kidney trading’ syndicate from Shakhahar union under Gobindaganj upazila in Gaibandha district on Thursday night.

The arrestee is Rahim Uddin, 37, son of late Sahir Uddin at Telihar village of the upazila.

Mehedi Hasan, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj Police Station, confirmed the matter.

Rahim was involved in the illegal trading and he used to allure poor people to sell kidneys in exchange of money and send those to India, the OC said.
