Mozena calls for dialogue to end political crisis

SUNAMGANJ, Sept 12: US Ambassador Dan Mozina Thursday said Bangladesh will get back GSP facilities in his country very soon on fulfillment of imposed conditions.
He said this while exchanging views with journalists at Shologhat area in the town.
The US envoy arrived in Sunamganj Tuesday night on a two-day visit. He left here Thursday afternoon after visiting Tanguar Haor, Tekerghat, Barochhara and Bariker Tila.
Mozina said the political parties in Bangladesh would have to come forward to resolve the crisis created over the national elections.
Holding a fair election is possible through dialogues between the two major parties, he opined and urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Opposition Leader Begum Khaleda Zia to take initiatives for talks.
The US envoy said there is no room for violence in a democracy. The common people of Bangladesh have no relation with terrorist activities, he added.
He appreciated the scenic beauty in Sunamganj and referred to potentials of Bangladesh.
He said wetland, fish, birds, coal, sank and people of diversified professions in Sunamganj fascinated him.
