Father kills daughter in Jhalokathi

In a heinous act of crime, a three-month-old daughter was brutally murdered by her father on Monday in Tarabunia village of Kathalia upazila in Jhalokathi.

Tania Begum, mother of the child filed a murder case against her husband Kalam Sikdar on Monday.

Locals said, Kamal Sikdar locked a clash with his brother Afzal Sikdar and sister Nasima Begum centering land dispute on Sunday morning. Meanwhile, Kamal complained that Afzal Sikdar and Nasima Begum tried to kill her daughter.

Later, the three-month-old child Jannani was sent to Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared the baby dead.

Kathalia police station Officer-in-Charge Pulak Chandra Roy said, following the murder, police arrested Kamal from Amua Health Complex on Sunday night. During interrogation, he confessed that he killed the kid.
