3 killed in Sitakunda road crash

Three people were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a covered van in Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram early Wednesday.

The accident took place in Bashbaria area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

Azizul Islam, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence, Chattogram, said a head-on collision between a truck and a covered van took place in Bashbaria area of the upazila early today, leaving three people dead on the spot.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies, he said.

The bodies were later handed over to Kumira Highway police, he added.
